ABOUT FRYS JOGGERS
We are a fairly small, friendly club, and we run for enjoyment and fun rather than offering serious training sessions. We run in mixed male and female groups and our runners span a wide range of ages from 20s to 70 plus, although most of us are in the 30-60 year bracket.
We run on Tuesday evenings, meeting from 7.00pm, one of the joggers will outline the planned route and we'll aim to head off at about 7.15pm. Our runners tend to run a set route of 5 to 7 miles (8k-11k) in 2-3 groups of varying pace and ability and our runs usually take around 1-1.5 hours.
Our regular runners range in pace from our faster runner group who run sub 9 min miles ranging through to a slower paced group who run around 11 minute mile pace. We try and place new runners with at least one other regular runner at a similar pace so new runners won't run on their own.
Because we are a small group and don't have any coaches we unfortunately are not able to offer beginners or juniors sessions or walk-run groups. Beginners might want too look at following a 'Couch to 5k' online programme and building up their running before they join us. A great place to start might be the Somerdale Pavilion Park Run or for women there is a local 'Keynsham Mums Run' group.
